Grace and peace be with you all, in Jesus Christ our Savior!

The Minnesota District Convention was held this past Tuesday-Thursday in New Ulm, MN.  As far as I've heard, or not heard,  everyone made it home safely as the storms that hit around the Albert Lea area were later in the day on Thursday.  The convention closed at 11:30am.  We had great weather for the convention and it was a blessed gathering.

This Saturday, the Schemms will host our family Bible study.  We will have a meal at 6:30pm, the menu will be salads.  You may bring a salad and/or dessert to share.  We will then have our study at approximately 7:30pm.  These are always wonderful opportunities to gather with your church family and friends, and be fed physically and spiritually.  Do join us.  Call Steve or Cherie if you need directions.

Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Pentecost (3rd Sunday after Trinity).  Our worship theme will be:  The life of Christian faith is a repentant life.  Repentance begins with true recognition of and sorrow over our sins.  The sermon text will be taken from Luke 15, the account of the prodigal son.  Following the worship service we will have Sunday school classes, continuing our series on the Lord's Prayer.  This week's lesson is the 2nd Petition, "Thy kingdom come."

A week from Saturday is the Adventureland outing.  There are a few tickets available yet at 15.00 each.  Brian and Darcy Crile are doing the organizing on this, so please talk to them if you would like to go.

Sign-up sheets are on the back table for VBS, students who will be attending and volunteers for teaching or helping.  Our VBS program will run the week of August 1-5, Sunday-Thursday from 6:30pm-8:30 daily.  Prior to the class each evening we will have a light meal at 6:00pm.

Looking ahead, our church picnic is Sunday, July 11 at Edmunson Park at the shelter nearest the wooden playground.  We will have a voter's meeting and Ladies' Aid at 4:30pm, at the Park,  followed by a 6:00pm pot luck meal.

The Lord's blessing on your weekend!

"You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."  Mt 5:14-16

See you Sunday.

In Christ,
Pastor
