SolasWhile I was at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, the Systematic Theology (Dogmatics/Doctrine) department was nearing completion of a complete update and revision (including translations and citations of old Latin and German “slugs”) of the Dogmatics notes put together by Prof. John P. Meyer many years before. The old notes had undergone minor revisions by various individuals over the years, but this latest revision brought the notes into the 21st Century, particularly dealing with more contemporary examples of ancient heresies, as well as expanding sections on areas of theology that have come under particular scrutiny in Christianity and Lutheranism in particular within the last 25-50 years.

At some point in the past few years, the Seminary has made available free on their website PDF versions of these updated Dogmatics notes. That’s been great, because they are accessible, but now the Seminary has taken it one step further. They have now made the notes available as digital “books” for theLibronix Digital Library System. Oh, and they’re also FREE!

So here’s the link to the page with both Libronix & PDF versions of the new Dogmatics notes. If you want to dig deeper into Lutheran theology, that’s a great place to start. While you’re over there, check out some of the other great pages and resources at the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary site, including Services of the Chapel and Essays from a host of writers throughout the synod’s history. I even came across a collection of PDF files of every issue of the Seminary’sTheologische Quartalschrift from 1904-1929. The Quartalschrift was the predecessor of the Seminary’s current magazine – Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly.Enjoy!
