Being a Phoenix at Prep is an amazing oppourtunity. The friends I have now will be my friends forever. The teachers I have, and I have/had most of them, and will have even more of them next year, make such a big impression. They will take time out of their schedule to help you if you don't understand something. Which is really nice in math class. I'm in Pre-Calc. Having Professor Bock (Pre-Calc, Stats/Prob, Clac, Lasers, Science, Physics) there if I'm confused is such and amazing thing to have. And you don't really get that too much at public school.

There aren't as many electives for classes, but it's a small school with limited teachers. The teachers we have know what they're talking about, and can go off on a certain subject for hours if you let them. Professor Hahm (Latin 3,4, Classics, German 3) soapboxes (goes off-subject) whenever he can. It's one of the funniest things sometimes. Yes, you will think, why LATIN? your freshman year, when you are forced to take it, but then it's really not that bad.

There are PLENTY of things to do outside of classes. You like band? We have Symphonic band, Wind ensemble, string ensemble, house band, pep band, jazz band, handbells, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, chapel ensembles, piano, organ, and other musical groups. You wanna sing? Choir, Prep Singers (some Juniors and Seniors are Prep Singers adn they take a tour every other school year over Spring Break), you can sing for chapel. You like drama? We've got Fall Play, Winter musical, Children's Theater in the Spring. You don't want to be onstage? Do set crew. They're always looking for people to paint/build set.

Althete? We've got football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, cross country, basketball, dance, softball, baseball, track and field (minus high jump and pole vault), blue men (our beloved cheerleaders (hehehe)), and of course intramurals (bowling, speedball(best game EVER), basketball, volleyball, powder puff football (amazing stuff there)). You wanna be in a club? Yearbook, pep club, camera club, student council (kind of a club, type thing), forensics(more of an activity but kind of a club. VERY fun. I love 4n6.). You're going to meet friends in everything you do at Prep, it's gaurenteed. And the idea is you learn something along the way. And you do.  Whether or not it's in class.

And living on campus really helps make friendships close knit. Being able to wear a jersey (or shirt) that has Phoenix across the fron is one of my favorite things. I visited here when I was in 5th grade, and fell in love with the campus. It's a beautiful campus, with amazing people. The tutor's are nice, although sometimes you don't think so, and they're always willing to help. Whether with homework or friends. Living away from your parents isn't really a bad thing. I promise. It's basically the same as leaving for college, except a couple years early. It helps you to know how living on our own feels like before you're actually an adult. It's an amazing experience for anyone to be a Luther Prep Phoenix. There's a lot more to Prep then this, but I have things to do and people to see. Which always seems to be the case on campus. Anyway.
