Adeline Farrington, a charter member of our congregation, passed away on Tuesday.  The family will have her body cremated.  There will be a funeral service in Milwaukee on Saturday, March 6.  Then, sometime this summer there will be a service here in Oskaloosa.

Sunday is the second Sunday in Lent.  Our worship theme will be; salvation though our Savior's sacrifice is rejected by many.  The sermon text is Peter's denial of our Lord, taken from Luke's gospel.  I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.

The Youth Group activity, which was canceled last Sunday due to the weather, will be held this Sunday evening at the Criles.  It will be a movie night beginning at 5:30pm.

This week, I received a letter, pictures, and additional information from Rev. Horpynchuk of the Ukrainian Lutheran Church.  He wished to thank our congregation for their offerings, prayers, and support.  As bleak as the political picture is there, and the devastating financial situation they find themselves in, he is comforted and encouraged to know people are thinking of them and offering their support.  Please consider dropping a dollar, or five, or more into our offering box each week.  After Sunday's offering is collected Marvin will send this month's total to Rev. Schroeder.  To date, over 10,000.00 dollars has been raised, of which we contributed over 1,600.00.  Thank you!

"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"
