On Pentecost this Sunday, we heard in our Epistle lesson from Acts 2:1-21 that the confusion of Babel is reversed as the disciples receive the Holy Spirit and are given the ability to speak in other languages to the glory of God. We also learned that the Holy Spirit, proceeds from both the Father and the Son and He testifies to the work of Jesus and brings us to faith. In the sermon, taken from John 15:26-27, we then hear the Jesus is the True Vine, that our life blood is of that Vine, and the produce from that Vine is the fruits of faith.
