We learn from the Scriptures found in Matthew 10:32-42 what are the conditions of discipleship. We find that a condition of discipleship is confessing Christ and that by doing so there will be discouragement and danger. But this is how we represent Christ and often times if not all the time, that is not the popular opinion.
On this 11th of July and in the 6th Sunday after Trinity, our sermon teaches us about who is responsible for the growth of our faith through the demonstration in the growth of a seed. Sermon text is Mark 4:26-32: The Growth of the Seed.
I. We plant the seed, but God causes it to grow
II. We see a small seed, but God sees the mature plant
On this 4th of July and in the 5th Sunday after Trinity, our sermon teaches us the value placed on sinners who come to faith and the comfort that gospel brings us. Pastor Neumann preaches on Luke 7:36-50 on a sermon entitled, "The Woman Who Was a Sinner". In this sermon message we gather in a picture of God's grace and find out who loves Christ more, a sinner or a self-righteous person.
This 4th Sunday after Trinity finds our sermon topic to be: "The Salt, the Light, the Candle". We hear about the believer's influence on others. We also hear about the source of our light which glows in the darkness of our sinful world.
Note: The audio quality is poor this week due to the wireless microphone losing battery power during the service. The other microphones did pickup the sermon, but with much background noise.
The sermon on the 2nd Sunday after Trinity was preached on Matthew 5:26-41, where Jesus contrasts what the world says about moral behavior with what God says. With these words, "But I say unto you...", Jesus compares and contrasts 1) what the world says and 2) what our Lord says to us.
